Self-initiated — Creative Portfolio

A portfolio that reacts to the hand that moves it

This site. Built from an empty folder — no framework, no build step, no animation library. The hero is wiped clean by your cursor, the page scrolls on a hand-written inertia loop, and the typography measures the viewport and rescales itself to fit. Two files carry the whole thing: one stylesheet, one script.

01 — The hero: a smoke layer revealed along the cursor trail, composited per frame.

My goal: make it feel expensive without shipping a single dependency.

The brief was mine, so the constraint was mine too. Every effect here is written by hand: the hero composites a smoke video through a canvas mask that follows your cursor and dissolves behind you over two seconds.

Scrolling runs through a custom easing loop, but the real page scroll stays the source of truth — so the nav theming, the ghost typography and the gallery parallax all read from one clock and never drift apart.

Motion supports the pace of the work rather than competing with it. On smaller screens the interactions become lighter, while navigation, project browsing and the contact flow remain direct.
